Lorenzo Alleva
Member of the Board
Director of Digital Lab, Bridgestone Mobility Solutions
Lorenzo Alleva has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Roma Tre University. Shortly after (2002) he started his career in Bridgestone, developing instruments for assessing tyre performance in wet and snowy conditions, as well as for measuring wear and resistance to rolling.
In 2004 Lorenzo became the Technical Coordinator of the Testing Engineering team and, in this role, he supported Bridgestone's F1 Motorsport project from 2004 to 2006. With his know-how in the area of tyre-road interaction, he assisted the F1 team in selecting the “best tyre” for guaranteeing maximum performance in every race.
After the period dedicated to the F1 Motorsport project, Lorenzo returned to the Research & Development (R&D) team for tyres, and then became the Head of Advanced Testing and Head of Advanced Tyre Simulation.
In 2017 he established Digital Garage R&D, concentrating on the development, management and experimentation of a portfolio of digital technologies supporting Bridgestone's strategy for transforming itself quickly from a tyre manufacturer to a solution provider.
Starting in 2022, Lorenzo became responsible for guiding the research & development team within the Bridgestone Mobility Solutions business unit. Bridgestone’s sensor and algorithm-based mobility solutions are designed, developed and tested in the two Digital Labs of Rome and Akron (USA), where a team of engineers and data scientists are working on Bridgestone’s current and future sustainable mobility solutions.
