Projects and programmes of strategic impact, sponsored by all network partners, aiming to transform the Ostiense area into the energy hub of the future, a benchmark in Italy. The energy transition projects integrate sustainable mobility and innovative smart city models. 

• Digital Twin: creation of a district digital repository containing data from joint experiments; 

• Federated Data Space: a study of data ecosystems aggregated through tools, rules and technologies, which enable the sharing of data from networked companies. The objective is to design sustainable mobility services for territories hosting major events. (e.g. the Jubilee 2025 event in Rome); 

• Air quality: development and use of low-cost mobile sensors for active monitoring of air quality, involving groups of citizens in different urban contexts; 

• Study on the navigability of the Tevere river and mobility: hydraulic feasibility study and analysis of the characteristics of means of transport for the navigability of the Tevere river to and from the Ostiense district, both for the transport of people and goods. 

• Drones: experimentation with new modes of monitoring/intervention in urban areas for different purposes; 

• Aerostatic balloons: testing new ways of monitoring/intervention in suburban areas for terrestrial observation; 

• Autonomous driving: construction of the first living hub for autonomous driving vehicles to accelerate the development and adoption of autonomous and connected driving technologies on infrastructure in urban areas; 

• Future of work: identification of innovative technologies to serve the world of work; 

• Water management: study of innovative ways of monitoring the efficiency of urban water networks; 

• Road to health: identification of strategies and solutions for enhancing health promotion in the area, through the design of innovative models and places for community care; 

• Tests and experiments: performance of road pavements, recovery and recycling of end-of-life tyres, safety in mobility, smart Eco Mobility.
