He joined Maire Tecnimont on 1 September 2021 as Chief Technology Innovation Officer of NextChem and Vice President of R&D for the whole group. He is a member of the executive management group.

Before joining he company, he held a number of executive and leadership positions in global business and in research and development functions for several companies. Before joining Maire Tecnimont, he was Chief Technology Officer at ELather, United Kingdom, and was co-founder and president of B&B Innovation.

Previously, he was executive vice-president for biorefinery activities at Stora Enso in Finland/Sweden, and EMEA Director for the development of new business activities for Dow Chemical, the company he joined in 1991 and where he held a number of positions for 22 years, firstly in research and development and later in Global Business and strategic marketing in several sectors and activities.

He has a Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Pisa, Italy, a PhD. in Polymers and Material Science from ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule) in Zurich and a Master in Business Administration from the IMD School in Switzerland.
