On the ROAD
During the “On the ROAD” event, we celebrated the first three years of ROAD, bringing together institutions, businesses, universities, and international partners at the Gazometro di Ostiense to share projects, technologies, and new strategic directions. This event provided a platform for discussion, highlighting the value of collaboration and networking as driving forces for generating a tangible impact on the community.

At the Gazometro in Ostiense, home of ROAD, we unveiled a mural by artist Giulio Vesprini, created in collaboration with LifeGate. The artwork transforms the wall into a sequence of colorful frames that tell urban stories and engage in dialogue with the surrounding space. This initiative reflects ROAD’s approach to its relationship with the neighborhood: an innovation district actively contributing to urban regeneration processes while promoting creativity, culture, and sustainability. Through projects like this, ROAD continues to pursue its vision of more efficient, inclusive, and vibrant cities, where art and technology come together to shape the future.
Sound Barrier - Innovation and recycling for more sustainable cities
Have you ever wondered what happens to tires when they are no longer used? What if they could become a solution to reduce noise in our cities? Within our District, we host the Sound Barrier project, developed by Hatko Sound Barriers: noise barriers made from recycled end-of-life tires, designed to be durable, long-lasting, and integrated into the urban landscape. In the video, Ludovica Beltrame, Head of Ecosystem & Co-Creation at ROAD, presents the project.
